REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Legal & Technology Notice

Understanding Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) as a delivery mechanism and our copyright compliance policies in the UK.

1. Technology Definition: What is IPTV?

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is an internationally standardized telecommunications protocol for transmitting digital television content over packet-switched computer networks (the internet), rather than through traditional radio frequency formats such as terrestrial aerial antennas or direct-broadcast satellite dishes.

IPTV is an open technology utilized by major global public broadcasters (including the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4) as well as commercial platforms worldwide. The technology itself is completely legal in the United Kingdom and across all major jurisdictions.

2. Intellectual Property & Copyright Compliance

StreamQ operates strictly as a network infrastructure, digital playlist aggregator, and software support service. We do not broadcast, re-transmit, or claim ownership over third-party copyrighted television channels, sports fixtures, or cinematic films without appropriate licensing agreements.

We do not sell, supply, or endorse "fully loaded" or modified streaming hardware configured to circumvent broadcaster security controls or access controls. We strictly prohibit the use of our services to bypass digital rights management (DRM) or access encrypted pay-per-view broadcasts without authorization.

3. User Responsibility & Licensing

Subscribers and users of StreamQ are solely responsible for ensuring that they hold the necessary licenses, viewing permits, or authorizations (such as a valid UK TV Licence where applicable) required to view specific television broadcasts in their respective jurisdictions.

4. Copyright Infringement & Takedown Requests

StreamQ respects intellectual property rights. If you are a copyright holder or an authorised agent representing a rights owner and believe that any stream URL or playlist entry hosted or linked through our infrastructure infringes upon your copyright, please submit a formal notification to:

Email: legal@streamq.co.uk
Attention: Copyright & Legal Compliance Team
Subject: Formal Notice of Infringement

All legitimate notices must include: 1) Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; 2) Specific identification of the infringing URL or stream; 3) Contact information of the complaining party; and 4) A statement made under penalty of perjury that the complaining party is authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
